Bayern Munich’s highly regarded midfielder Jamal Musiala has offered comprehensive explanations for the severe injury that has kept him out of action since the summer.
The German international, who suffered both a broken fibula and a dislocated ankle as a result of a significant on-pitch collision with Gianluigi Donnarumma, told BILD that the Italian goalkeeper shouldn’t be blamed for his injury.
“He looked for the ball, it wasn’t intentional. He texted me straight away, saying everything’s fine. These things happen in football.

“Watching my teammates from the stands is painful. I already know that when I return, I’ll do what I love. It’s my daily motivation.
“I want to return to the pitch when I’m truly ready. There’s no point in rushing. The important thing is to be fully fit, especially with the World Cup in mind.”
Musiala, 22, required surgery after being stretchered off in visible pain, with the club confirming his absence would last for several months.
