Inter Milan’s Manuel Akanji has described the club as the best in Italy.
The 30-year-old arrives at San Siro on a season-long loan deal and the Italian club have revealed that they have an option to make the deal permanent, which will become an obligation if certain conditions are met.
Akanji, who was previously linked with the likes of AC Milan, Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace, completed his move to Inter on the final day of the summer transfer window and becomes Christian Chivu’s seventh new signing.

Speaking with the club’s website, Akanji stated that it was an easy choice to join Inter Milan.
“It will definitely be different from the Premier League, even the Bundesliga was different. I still don’t know what it’s like as a player, but I’ve seen a lot of games and I like it a lot, which is also why I made this decision.
“I can’t wait to start with (coach Cristian) Chivu, to meet him and understand what kind of playing ideas he has in mind.
“For me, Inter is the biggest club in Italy and one of the best in the world. They’ve proven that in recent years. It was very easy to choose this club.”
