The Kwara State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of five suspected kidnappers and the rescue of two victims during a joint operation with local security outfits in Idofin Igbana, Oke-Ero Local Government Area.
The breakthrough followed swift collaboration between police operatives and the Local Government Security Initiative, who launched a coordinated search after receiving distress calls from residents.
The abduction occurred on August 30 at about 7:45 p.m. when three women, identified as Ahmed Aminat, Mohammed Habibat, and Isah Aminat, were kidnapped in the Oke-Ile community of Idofin Igbana.

According to security sources, operatives combed nearby bushes and traced the suspects to Ago Alu Fulani camp along the Idofin/Olla road. On sighting the advancing team, the kidnappers abandoned two victims and fled with the third captive, Ahmed Aminat.
Those arrested at the camp include Abubakar Seriki Juli, Mohammadu Bello, Abubakar Sodiq, Abubakar Bako, and another suspect also identified as Mohammadu Bello, all residents of Idofin Aiyekale.
“One of the victims was able to positively identify two of the suspects as members of the gang that carried out the abduction,” a security source confirmed.
The Kwara State Police Command stated that efforts are ongoing to rescue the remaining victim and to apprehend other fleeing accomplices linked to the crime.
