Niger Gov Bago Dissolves Cabinet, Retains Key Principal Officers


Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, on Monday,  announced the dissolution of his cabinet while retaining some key principal staff in his office.

The governor made the disclosure during the State Executive Council meeting held at the Council Chamber in Minna.

He explained that the move was necessary to reposition his administration for greater efficiency.

Bago confirmed that although the commissioners and some members of the cabinet were relieved of their duties, certain offices would continue to function under his administration.

These include the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), the Chief of Staff (CoS), the Deputy Chief of Staff, and other principal officers working directly with his office.

He praised the outgoing officials for their contributions to his government, stressing that their efforts laid a strong foundation for reforms.

“I sincerely appreciate members of my cabinet for the services they have so far rendered towards the development of Niger State.

“I wish them the very best in their future endeavours,” Bago said.

Reassuring residents about continuity in governance, the governor added: “This decision does not mean the end of our collective journey.

“We are simply opening a new chapter that will bring in fresh energy and new ideas to strengthen our mission for Niger State.”

He further emphasized his administration’s resolve to sustain people-centered policies.

“We are determined to consolidate on our achievements and pursue projects that directly impact the lives of our citizens.

“Niger people deserve the best, and we will not relent until our vision becomes a reality,” he declared.
