Former Jigawa State Governor and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart, Sule Lamido, has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of worsening Nigeria’s economic challenges.
He added that APC rule has also deepened hardship for citizens across the country.
Speaking on Sunday, at an expanded caucus meeting of the PDP in Dutse, Lamido said the years of APC rule under former President Muhammadu Buhari and current President Bola Tinubu have betrayed Nigerians’ hopes.

“Since Buhari and now Tinubu, Nigerians are suffering”
“Poverty is everywhere, youths are jobless, and the economy is collapsing”.
“They say they are fighting for Nigeria, but in reality, they only fight for themselves and their pockets,” Lamido told party members.
Drawing from over four decades in politics, Lamido traced his political roots to the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) struggles of 1979, highlighting the importance of integrity, sacrifice, and service to the people.
He emphasised that political leadership should be anchored in accountability and the pursuit of justice rather than personal gain.
He urged PDP members to remain committed to principles of fairness and to avoid selfish politics and the politics of insults.
Lamido also encouraged the party to position itself as a credible alternative for Nigerians disillusioned by APC governance, saying, “Our duty is to offer hope, solutions, and a path for Nigerians tired of hardship. PDP must continue to be the party that stands for the people.”
He further added, “We must ensure that our policies reach the common man, create jobs, and reduce poverty.
“Leadership is not about luxury, it is about service and sacrifice”
On the state of the economy, Lamido said, “Every day, more Nigerians struggle to put food on their tables. This is not leadership; it is neglect. PDP will bring a government that listens and acts” .
