The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Rabiu Mukhtar, has won the Garki-Babura Federal Constituency by-election in Jigawa State with 38,449 votes, while Auwalu Isah Manzo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) came second with 13,519 votes.
Announcing the result, Prof. Salisu Ibrahim, the Returning Officer for Garki/Babura Federal Constituency, said the election was free, fair and credible.
The election, which took place on Saturday, witnessed a massive turnout of voters amidst tight security.

The winner thanked the people for voting him and promised to deliver his campaign promises. He called on those that lost the election to exercise patience and join hands to promote the constituency through various developmental projects.
Daily trust observed that the election was largely hitch-free and non-violent across the polling units.
