The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), in the early hours of Sunday, declared the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate, Adesola Ayoola Elegbeji winner in the Remo Federal Constituency, Ogun state bye-election.

Declaring the results of the election held Saturday, at the collation center in Ikenne, the Returning Officer, Prof. Kazeem Bello, declared that Adesola Ayoola Elegbeji of the APC polled a total of 41,237, while her closeth rival, Abolarin Oluwole of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) polled 14,324.
The breakdown of the votes in the three local governments making up the constituency includes Ikenne LGA, APC: 10,227, PDP: 5,595.
In Remo North LGA, APC: 8,052, PDP: 992, ADC: 37 and ADP 43, while in Sagamu LGA, APC: 22,958 and PDP: 7,737.
