FG Rewards Teenager Who Won Global English Competition With N200,000


The Federal Government on Thursday rewarded Nafisah Abdullahi, winner of the TeenEagle global finals competition, with a cash gift of N200,000.

The Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, presented the award during a ceremony held in Abuja.

It will be recalled that the Atiku Foundation had earlier honoured TeenEagle champions Nafisa Abdullahi, Rukaiya Fema, and Khadija Kalli with fully funded scholarships in recognition of their remarkable performance at the TeenEagle Global Finals.

The girls, who clinched top positions in different categories of the prestigious academic contest, were celebrated by the Foundation for what it termed their “remarkable success.”

In a letter dated August 5, 2025, and signed by Prof. Ahmadu Shehu, Acting Secretary of the AAF, the Foundation stated, according to a copy obtained by PUNCH Online, “The Atiku Abubakar Foundation is delighted to learn of your outstanding performance at the TeenEagle Global Finals, where you emerged as global winners in various categories of the competition.”

Among the awardees is 17-year-old Nafisa Abdullahi, who distinguished herself with her strong command of English, critical thinking ability, and eloquence—qualities that enabled her to emerge victorious over contestants from 69 countries.
