Activist and lawyer Deji Adeyanju has fired back at former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, following the seven-day ultimatum issued against him over alleged defamatory statements.
Adeyanju’s response comes after Obi, through his lawyer Chief Alex Ejesieme (SAN), demanded a retraction, public apology, and removal of all defamatory posts within seven days, threatening legal action and claims for damages if the activist fails to comply.
Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) handle, Adeyanju confirmed receipt of Obi’s legal notice, but dismissed it as laughable, vowing to meet the former Anambra governor in court.
He wrote:
“Just got this letter from Peter Obi the religious bigot demanding a retraction from me. I laughed so hard. I can’t wait to meet him in court finally. A fraud parading himself as a messiah. This same guy called the great Sowore a blackmailer-in-chief. We served his little errand girl Serah a letter to retract all her defamatory publications on Monday against my wife & she ran to the leader of the mob for help. Can’t wait to meet him in court.”

In a follow-up post, Adeyanju doubled down on his stance, linking Obi to alleged online smear campaigns.
“Serah Ibrahim will soon have her day in court. Obi cannot save her and I am ready for him in court 100%. Super happy he sent that letter. It proves what we have always suspected; he is the one sending them to defame people online because they are his aides,” he added.
