The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on Monday, August 26, 2025, inaugurated 30 solar-powered streetlights, an industrial borehole, and a 35,000-litre water storage system in Anipupo Community, Odeda Local Government Area, Ogun State.
The projects, dedicated to Air Vice Marshal Abidemi Timothy Marquis, shows NAF’s commitment to enhancing civil-military relations and improving local livelihoods.
Air Vice Marshal Ibikunle Daramola, representing Chief of the Air Staff Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, described the initiative as part of NAF’s non-kinetic operations to foster trust and development.
“By providing clean water and lighting, we’re improving lives and strengthening bonds with communities,” Daramola stated, as shared in a post on NAF’s X handle.
Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, represented by Commissioner for Environment Ola Oresanya, hailed the projects as a model of transformative partnership, aligning with the state’s grassroots development goals.
He urged residents to maintain the facilities and support security efforts. AVM Marquis called on the community to protect the projects as “a seed for lasting development.”
The intervention highlights NAF’s growing role in community development beyond its defense duties, with stakeholders praising the initiative’s impact on Anipupo’s residents.
