At the 4th Annual Africa CEO Summit, themed “Business Beyond Borders: Building a Global Brand”, Ozioma Okonkwo, Founder and CEO of OOBIUKU Clothing, was awarded the African Emerging CEO of the Year, recognizing her outstanding leadership and impact in Africa’s fashion industry.
The prestigious ceremony took place at the Lagos Oriental Hotel Ballroom and brought together some of Africa’s most influential leaders and executives. The Africa CEO Summit celebrates leaders building Africa’s future through innovation, excellence, and global influence.
The event is organized by the Pan African Youth Leadership Foundation, a respected continental organization committed to recognizing and empowering young leaders across diverse industries.
Through its programs and annual awards, the Foundation highlights executives making significant contributions to Africa’s growth, innovation, and international presence. The recognition of Ozioma by this body further underscores her exceptional influence and reputation.
The certificate of recognition, presented by Salako Adebowale, Founder and Executive Director of the Pan African Youth Leadership Foundation, commends Ozioma for her work as an exemplary executive making global impact.
Since founding OOBIUKU Clothing in 2017, she has personally designed and overseen the creation of over 1,000 bespoke bridal and couture pieces for high-net-worth clients in Nigeria and internationally. Her designs are celebrated for their originality, cultural depth, and superior craftsmanship, earning her recognition as a leading voice in African couture.
“Receiving this award is an affirmation of the power of African creativity and entrepreneurship,” said Ozioma Okonkwo.
“OOBIUKU was built on the belief that fashion is more than style; it is a tool for empowerment, cultural storytelling, and global connection. This recognition motivates me to continue pushing boundaries and creating opportunities for others in the industry.”
Under her leadership, OOBIUKU Clothing has grown into one of Africa’s premier bespoke bridal and couture brands, with a loyal global clientele built largely through referrals and repeat customers. Her award is a testament not just to her creative achievements but also to the growing influence of African women entrepreneurs and the economic power of the continent’s creative industries.
