Nigerian music icon Tiwa Savage is set to make a highly anticipated comeback with her new album, This One Is Personal, scheduled for release on August 29.
This will be her first full-length album since Celia in 2020, concluding a five-year gap between major releases.
On Tuesday, Savage shared on her X account that the 13-track album delves into themes of pain, growth, and resilience, featuring a deeply personal Afrobeats sound.

The album was crafted in Nashville, London, and Lagos, with only a handful of guest appearances, including contributions from UK rapper Skepta and fast-rising artist Taves.
“This album is my story, so I kept the features limited.
“I wanted you all to feel me in every song. The few features I chose were very intentional, with people who understood the vision and could add to the message without taking away from its intimacy. It’s less about numbers and more about connection,” Savage shared in a fan Q&A on X.
Savage, who hasn’t put out a full studio album since 2020, explained that the project mirrors her experiences over the last five years, capturing her journey through career shifts, motherhood, and self-discovery.
Fans across the globe have taken to social media with excitement, using the hashtag #ThisOneIsPersonal to connect with the singer as she shares insights into the album’s creation and the inspiration behind each song.
