The Kaduna State Police Command has arrested three teenagers for abducting three siblings, all under 14, from their home on Calabar Road, Sabon Layi, Kaduna North, on August 25, 2025.
The suspects, identified as Richard Philip, Ibrahim Ma’aruf (18), and Abubakar Sadiq (15), demanded a N50 million ransom for the release of Aslam Umar Lukman (14), Suleiman Umar Tanko (12), and Aliyu Umar Tanko (10).
DSP Masir Hassan, the command’s spokesperson, stated that following a distress call from the victims’ father, police operatives used strategic intelligence and tactical communication to lure the ringleader, Richard Philip, from their hideout, leading to his arrest.
Philip confessed to conspiring with Ma’aruf and Sadiq to kidnap the children and hold them at his residence.
Acting on this information, police raided the location, apprehended the culprits, and safely rescued the three siblings without harm.
The Kaduna State Commissioner of Police ensured the children were reunited with their family, with investigations ongoing to address the incident.
