Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has rounded off his statewide engagement tour to council areas with the commissioning of major development projects delivered by Katsina Local Government Chairman, Hon. Isah Miqdad Ad Saude.
The projects unveiled include an upgraded Legislative Council Chamber, new offices at the Local Government Council, a renovated ICT Centre, official vehicles for council officers, and a new Primary Health Centre in Unguwar Yari Arewa ‘A’.
Speaking shortly after with the stakeholders, Governor Radda applauded the unity amongst stakeholders and highlighted ongoing urban renewal works in transforming Katsina metropolis, such as the road expansions and dual carriageways designed to boost tourism and economic growth.
He announced the upcoming building of the Health Imaging Centre Hospital, valued at over N34 billion, promising its commissioning within his administration’s tenure.
“Accountability is our priority. You gave us your mandate; we must deliver,” Governor Radda said. He stated that local government autonomy is now visible, as LG chairmen can present clear development plans for their communities.
Addressing some political concerns, the Governor dismissed rumors of crisis, attributing such reports to social media misinformation. He confirmed progress in frontline local governments areas which include Danmusa, Faskari, Jibia, Batsari, Kankara, and Dandume.
Also speaking at the event, business mongul, Alhaji Dahiru Barau Mangal expressed strong support for Governor Radda’s leadership: “Allah has blessed Katsina with a humble and committed governor. We will stand firmly behind you to complete your first four years and beyond to 2031.”
At his home local government area, Charanchi LGA, Governor Radda who remarked that, God has given them the chance and opportunity to serve the state, pledged not to disappoint the people of Charanchi LG for the opportunity given to lead the state to greater heights.
He said, the tour was embarked upon to feel the pulse of the people whether or not they are satisfied with his leadership style and that of their representatives, stating however that, “from the assessment, the right things are being done by most of our representatives”.
“All I am doing is reciprocating the gesture done to me especially with the local Government autonomy granted by the court”, he said.
Radda commended the numerous empowerment initiatives carried out by most of the Local Government Councils Chairmen, House of Representatives members, and senators across the state, pointing out that, these programs were in line with his administration’s dream to build a booming economy at the rural communities.
Highlights of the tour to the councils witnessed the distribution of empowerment items procured to improve the economic well-being of the people in boosting economic activities in their respective council areas.
