Ex-convict should not interview law-abiding Nigerians on TV – Wike’s aide tackles Rufai Oseni

Lere Olayinka, the Senior Special Assistant on Public
Communications and Social Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital
Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has lashed out at television personality, Rufai
Oseni.

Olayinka described Rufai as an ex-convict who should not be
allowed to interview law-abiding Nigerians on television.

In August 2022, Rufai was accused of driving on the BRT lane
on Lagos highway and also resisted arrest by policemen.

He was dragged before a Lagos mobile court and was charged
with flouting Lagos State Transport Law of 2018.

The court found him guilty of driving on the BRT lane in
contravention of the law and was fined the sum of N70,000.

The TV presenter was said to have paid the fine and
subsequently got his vehicle released to him.

However, Olayinka posted on X: “Normal normal, ex-convict
@ruffydfire no suppose dey work in a TV station and be saying I PUT IT TO YOU
nah.

“In Nigeria, an ex-convict mustn’t hold public office until
after 10 yrs.

@ruffydfire was convicted in 2022.

“An ex-convict working in @ARISEtv and interviewing
law-abiding Nigerians is an aberration. He needs our prayers.

“Ex-convict @ruffydfire needs our prayers. Let’s pray for
him. He has graduated from psychology to psychosis.”
