76 Anambra Market Groups Sign MOU, Endorse APC’s Ukachukwu In Onitsha

Traders from 76 market groupings in Anambra on Saturday in Onitsha, the state’s commercial hub signed a Memorandum Of Understanding,(MOU) with Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, the APC candidate in the November 8 governorship election in the state.

Nze Theo Obiora who led traders from all the 76 markets in Anambra to put pen to paper on their expectations from the APC candidate in the event of his victory on November 8, subsequently moved the crowd of traders gathered to collectively endorse their support.
At this stage, the crowd of traders had left their seats in the canopies to converge at the main bowl of All Saints Church field in the commercial city to raise their hands in unison with a voice vote that gave filip to their support for Ukachukwu/ Ekwunife ticket for the November 8, elections.

Letters of the MOU which the traders passionately pleaded with the APC candidate to implement after November 8, included addressing the menace of the Aka-Odo people, the unconventional tax collectors working for the state government who maim and kill in the course of duty, and the debilitating multiple taxation imposed by the state.

The MOU also sought the taming of insecurity ravaging the state and in the markets and the menace of touts, thugs , intimidation and imposition of Caretaker Committee leadership across markets in the state among others .
The visibly elated traders said they had been been going through hell in the past three years of the present APGA administration in the state which has virtually collapsed their businesses through excessively multiple taxations.
They expressed appreciation to Prince Ukachukwu for accepting to sign the MOU with them, saying they would reciprocate with their support and votes on November 8.
On the heels of the signature exchanges on the MOU and subsequent endorsement and support were a special welcome anthem by the “Imolites” ,a crowd of Imo people resident in Anambra who pledged their support to the Ukachukwu/ Ekwunife ticket of APC.
The group led by Mrs Callista Nwachukwu, a former Chairman of Ogbaru Council Area of the state vowed to massively vote for Prince Ukachukwu during the elections saying that they had become sick and tired of the state administration’s excruciating multiple taxation.

Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu in his comments shortly after assured all Anambra citizens and residents alike of equal treatment and inclusivity as his administration if elected had no plans to discrimination against anybody
He said that he will begin the implementation of his transformative programme for the state with the restoration of security which outside being top priority to ensure safety of lives and property remains a major attraction to investors who will want to invest in the state.
Added to this, he said is the provision of a 24 hour daily power supply and energy needed for both domestic and industrial uses which he plans to actualize by developing a gas plant at Omasi in Ayamelum council area of the state using the large deposits of natural gas there.
He assured them that with these measures in place moribund industries in the state would be revitalized and new industries spring up in his administration’ s planned industrial clusters to provide jobs for the unemployed, reduce crime and boost the state’s economy, adding that there would be a scholarship scheme for students in the state.

He thereafter appealed to them to vote massively for APC along with their families, neighbors, and well-wishers to ensure a landslide victory for him and get their desire of good governance actualized.
