230m Nigerians ‘ll defeat APC, defecting governors – El-Rufai

Former Kaduna state governor, Malam Nasiru El-Rufa’i, on Wednesday declared that Nigerians would unite to defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the governors defecting into the party.

El-Rufa’i made the remarks during the unveiling of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) National Contact and Mobilisation Office in Plateau state.

He said Nigerians had grown weary of the current leadership.

“I know everybody is tired of the APC and PDP. Everybody is looking up to the ADC to save Nigeria. Governors are defecting from PDP to APC. By God’s grace 230 million Nigerians will defeat 25 governors,” he stated.

El-Rufa’i added that ADC leaders were determined to unite and produce credible candidates with sound policies capable of repositioning the country.

He said the party intended to restore integrity and ethical leadership, noting that they left the APC because it had “become a party of tyranny, theft and divisiveness.”

Plateau state coordinator of the ADC Contact and Mobilisation Office, Hon. Jamilu Lawandi Datti, said the opening of the office marked the beginning of a movement aimed at bridging the gap between governance and the people, particularly Nigerian youth.

He highlighted the challenges facing young people, unemployment, insecurity, poor education, inadequate healthcare, political exclusion, and corruption, all of which had weakened trust in governance.

He called for unity and national responsibility, saying, “Together, we will build a Nigeria that works for all.”

In her remarks, the State Chairman of ADC, Mrs. Hannatu Gagara, described the event as a milestone for grassroots mobilisation.

She formally received more than 800 defectors from both the APC and PDP, assuring them of equal rights and privileges within the ADC.
