2027: Why Atiku, Obi, Jonathan can’t defeat Tinubu – Orji Uzor Kalu

The lawmaker representing Abia North Senatorial District, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, has expressed strong confidence that none of Nigeria’s major opposition figures, former President Goodluck Jonathan, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, and Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi can defeat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Wednesday, the former Abia State Governor said President Tinubu has performed creditably in managing Nigeria’s economy and governance, adding that his achievements and political strength would secure him another victory at the polls.

“None of these people parading can defeat President Tinubu,” Kalu stated. “We know ourselves. All of us know ourselves. What are they going to offer Nigerians that we are not offering?”

When asked directly if he was referring to Jonathan, Atiku, and Obi, the senator replied, “Whatever you call them, none of them can defeat Tinubu.”

Kalu also cautioned former President Goodluck Jonathan against attempting another presidential bid, arguing that the Nigerian Constitution bars him from contesting again.

“If I’m President Jonathan, I will not think of running for election because first of all, he is constitutionally banned by law, nobody can do more than eight years. If I’m Goodluck Jonathan, I will just be the statesman that I am,” Kalu said.
