The Labour Party (LP) has said that it has not zoned its presidential ticket to the South-East for the 2027 elections.
National Publicity Secretary of the party, Obiora Ifoh, said this on Monday in Abuja in a statement.
He said that his Sunday statement on the subject was misrepresented.

He said that a statement credited to the party’s National Chairman, Julius Abure, which stated that the party was still “available for Ndigbo to realise presidency,” was quoted out of context.
“Candidates of every position must emerge through highly competitive and democratic processes, as the party constitution does not permit zoning.
“We therefore regret the misinterpretation of the party’s noble intention by a section of the media. Our party was quoted out of context,” Ifoh said.
