Former Lagos governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has made a bold claim ahead of the 2027 elections.
He asserted that he is more qualified than Seyi Tinubu to contest for the Lagos governorship, citing his experience and previous participation in the race.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday, Jandor acknowledged that Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, is qualified to contest.

However, he emphasised that experience sets him apart.
“Okay, so all the names that you have mentioned, just like I said earlier, they are all qualified to be governor of Lagos.
“This includes Seyi himself, every one of them,” Jandor said.
“So I come with that experience. I come with the experience of somebody who has single-handedly gone through that process without any backing.”
Jandor further stated, “Experience is crucial in governance. You cannot underestimate what it means to have faced the electorate, to have understood the challenges on the ground, and to have campaigned across every ward of Lagos.
“That is something you cannot learn in a book or from political advisers.”
He added, “I have seen firsthand what it takes to connect with the people, to listen to their concerns, and to mobilize support without relying on political dynasties or heavy financial backing. That is the kind of leadership Lagos needs.”
On the potential competition, he noted, “I respect all the candidates who may step forward. But when it comes to navigating the electoral process, I bring a practical understanding that only experience can give. That is my advantage.”
