At least three players from the NPFL have been listed by coach Eric Chelle on the Super Eagles 31-man provisional squad for next month’s 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
The Super Eagles coach has named Enugu Rangers central defender Ifeanyi Onyebuchi as well as Papa Daniel of Niger Tornadoes on his enlarged squad, which would later be pruned down to 23 players.
The third NPFL player on the squad is a goalkeeper.
The former Mali coach was impressed with both players when he watched the CHAN Eagles take on NPFL club Sunshine Stars in a test game in Ikenne.
Super Eagles battle Rwanda in Kigali on March 21, before they face Zimbabwe in Uyo on March 25 as the 2026 World Cup qualifiers resume.
