Nigeria’s international, Raphael Onyedika may have played his comeback game at the weekend after an injury layoff, but the Club Brugge coach has said the Super Eagles midfielder is not fully recovered.
Onyedika played the last half an hour in a 2-1 home win over Dender Saturday.
Club Brugge coach Nicky Hayen said the midfielder is far from 100%.
“Thirty minutes was the maximum for him in this match (vs Dender),” he stated.
“Can he start against Barcelona (Wednesday)? To make that decision, we have to see what the impact is and how he feels.
Meanwhile , another injured player is back Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle can now sleep a little easier as two of his injured players returned to action leading up to crucial 2026 World Cup Playoffs later this month.
Samuel Chukwueze, who suffered a calf injury in Super Eagles action against Benin last month in Uyo, was a 77th minute sub for Fulham in a 3-0 win over struggling Wolves Saturday.
Chukwueze delivered two assists for Nigeria to fly past Benin 4-0 and qualify for the World Cup Playoffs in Morocco.
Samuel Chukwueze got very good rating after helping Fulham overcome struggling Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-0 in Saturday’s Premier League encounter at Craven Cottage.
Despite coming on in the 77th minute for his third league appearance, Chukwueze made an instant impact.
The winger was close to getting on the score sheet just few seconds after coming on but saw his superb strike hit the post.
