Ekiti State Police Command has arraigned two men, Tope Jimoh (30), and Ganiyu Saka (45) at the Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ado-Ekiti over an alleged threat to life and forceful entry into farmland.
The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the defendants and others at large at Ado-Ekiti on February 6 at about 2pm threatened the life of one Chief Oluwafemi Isijola, that they will kill him, if he enters his farmland.
Inspector Oriyomi said on the same date, time and place, the defendants forcefully entered the farmland of Chief Isijola without his permission and attempted to sell his property to unknown persons.

The prosecutor said the offence was contrary to and punishable under Section 69 of the Criminal Code Laws of Ekiti State, 2021 and Section 65 of the Laws of Ekiti State, 1919 on Land grabbing.
The two defendants had earlier pleaded not guilty to the two- count charge preferred against them in charge No: MAD/165c/25.
Counsel to the defendants, Barrister Rotimi Adabembe, applied for their bail in liberal terms, saying they would not jump bail.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Abayomi Adeosun, granted bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety each in like sum with sure means of livelihood and adjourned the case till March 13, for hearing.
