100 days in office: Gov Okpebholo on course with impactful leadership style

Impressed by the progress Governor of Edo state, Governor Monday Okpebholo, has.mafe in the state the Peoples Alliance for Indigenous Rights (PAIR) has hailed the governor describing his 100 days in office as momentous and creating a lasting legacy.

National Coordinator of the civil society group, Adolor Asoro, in a press statement said the pace of governance in all facets has been impressive and demonstrates the governor’s commitment and focus to better the lot of the Edo people.

“Across the 18 local government areas in the state, you can feel the pulse and excitement of the people given the massive projects and people-oriented impact of the governor,” Asoro stated.

According to the PAIR national coordinator, the approval for the promotion of 8,476 primary and junior secondary school teachers across the 18 Local Government Areas, which is unprecedented anyways, shows a governor that prioritises the education and progress of his people.

“Also, the governor is renovating a 100 schools within the 100 days. This is what somebody could not do for eight years but here we are. 100 schools in 100 days.

“You also need to take into cognisance the strengthening of anti-corruption efforts in Edo state. It is worthwhile to stress that no governor in Nigeria has within weeks fired even one top official on allegations of corruption.

“But here in Edo, two officials under 100 days were shown the exit door. This tells you that the Edo state treasury is safe with Governor Monday Okpebholo.”

Asoro also stressed that the fight against insecurity was gaining momentum with the arrest of 100 individuals engaged in criminal affairs in some parts of the state.

“Okpebholo was created for a time such as this and Edolites should throw their support behind him to reverse the decay and rot especially of the last eight years. There is no going back to Egypt.

“We at PAIR are proud of what the governor is doing and urge him not to be distracted or relent in giving the Edo people with the dividends of democracy as exemplified by his giant strides in 100 days.”
